Your membership helps the community to take care of our flying sites. This usually consists of launch clean up, mowing, various improvements, bush whacking etc. We would like to specifically thank some folks for their diligence in helping out Anne Magnusun and Steve Beals weed whacking at Mara Steve for cleaning up Coopers launch and everyone else who has contributed their time to site maintenance around the North Okanagan. All of the club appreciate your time and effort and passion for this sport. |

Every year BCHPA (BC Hangliding and Paragliding Association) holds their annual meeting in a different location in the province. This year they have decided on Vernon and will be holding their board meeting in conjunction with ours on Sunday November 17, 2019. This is the time to come and meet the board members as well as ask your questions and present your ideas. If you are a paid member of HPAC then some of the funds that we pay go to BCHPA to help support the free flying community in BC. They are the organization that is helping us fund some of the cost for our weather stations and have also provided funds for Mara launch improvement, Flyhills launch build and I believe some funds were contributed to King Eddie for launch improvement as well as Coopers. Don't miss this special meeting in Vernon November 17th Alexander's Beach Pub 12408 Kalamalka Road Meeting will start at 7:15 Due to the size of the meeting we may have to change the venue. In conjunction with Okanagan Soaring Association, Eddy Rivera is hosting a Fly-In at King Eddy Mountain, Vernon B.C. This is the first fly-in in some years to happen at King Eddie and was host to a number of hang glider events such as the Canadian National Hang Gliding Competition. King Eddy is located at the end of the Coldstream Ranch cornfield off Hwy 6. King Eddy is a great morning and afternoon flying site and can work up until sunset with some great convergence in the evenings.
